| Description: |
This M4L device permits to send "transpose" note events to a keyboard like the Arturia Keystep by pedaling certain bass notes. I.e. you can transpose a running sequence from your keyboard while you are playing, the device will only let through notes that are pedaled _and_ within a given range (usually corresponding to the bass range). This is a poor man's substitution for a bass pedal, it requires the player to be able to pedal the fundamental chord notes with some precision, but piano players know how to do this.
Use with a keyboard with a pedal. Insert into a MIDI track that receives notes from your keyboard and select your Keystep as "MIDI To:" in the Ableton track. Configure the Keystep to receive Transpose events from this channel. Start a sequence on the Keystep. Now pedal some different bass notes to hear the sequence transpose. |
